The biggest trade-off that we made after speaking to many users is that we have eliminated all advertising from our installer, as well as 3rd-party ads from in the user interface itself. This advertising brought in some revenue, but we understand that it bothered many Connectify users. The decision to remove ads from Connectify was a tough one. Instead, we now offer you two choices:
- The free version now requires your hotspot name to start with “Connectify-”, or,
- You can purchase Connectify Pro to name your Connectify Hotspot anything you want, and get all of the other great features that come with Connectify Pro.

Would like to have a proxy feature. In most of the organisations we have net connection behind proxy. And since android lacks this this connectify whith proxy support and android would have been a great combination (atleast till android gets proxy support)

(This update showed up on my Device today 09-13-11). It never asked about updating when this was released, and I use Connectify every day, just I have to spend time fixing the issues that MS updates cause to my device.
I like Connectify but V3 sucks. I love how from version 2 to 3 they take away features and then attempt to charge you for them. Great software when they first started though, but I still recommend V2 over V3 lite.
I will stick with my Version 2 or switch back to using my phone if they attempt to take away additional features. Next will probably be no password settings on Lite version.
V2 Free
V3 $20 (not too bad a price, but when V4 comes out your paying another $20 and so on [You will not get the updates for free]) I won’t pay to find out I need to pay a second time when Support for what I want is fixed and they call it V4. (PS3)
V2 works with PS3,
V3 fails with PS3. This was the reason I started using Connectify to extend my Wireless. They ruined the PS3 support for Xbox support (I was expecting this to come about, but this was Microsoft’s fix to their BSoD).
BSoD (How did people manage to get this? When my PC goes into Hibernate it auto disconnects my networks). This is a MS issue and it was not related to Connectify. Glad Connectify took to looking into this, but this is a user config issue and not a Programming issue.
V2 Connectify will autostart, but not actually start the hotspot. Takes 5 mins to actually start the hotspot after I manually press the Start button. (uses Virtual Wireless)
V3 Connectify autostarts, and autostarts the hotspot. Still takes 5 Mins to load (what is this really loading that takes 5 mins on a pc that takes 20 seconds to boot up?)It even gets its own network card instead of the Virtual Wireless I was using with V2.
(They did address the autostart for me, but not the issue on why it takes so long).
Removed ads at Install? Really? If people complained about the 3rd party programs installed they should have read what they where installing and not just clicked next through it all. It’s only on Install, and I never saw any ad after that. (well if there was ads on the UI after I started it up I never had to touch it again unless I shutdown my PC). My PC also knows when Connectify is running to keep it from going to sleep/Hibernate mode.
V2 I am able to name my SSID anything I want.
V3 (lite requires the connectify~) Was this really needed? It adds no additional security. Mine actually has not allowed me to change the SSID at all though. (will work through this more later with V3), but currently its only called connectify

I have been trying out free version of Connectify, starting with version 2, it was working ok. When I upgraded to version 3, since then I have not been able to get version 3 to work. Error of No Internet Access. I had emailed support but unanswered.
Unless support is improve and Connectify is more seamless. It would be hard to consider upgrading to PRO version.
