How Connectify Pro Pricing Works (It's Simple!)

Posted by rhaldar on September 15, 2011 under Tips & Tricks

Since Connectify Pro launched some weeks ago, we’ve gotten a few emails from users asking us to clarify exactly what you get with the purchase of a Connectify Pro v3.0 license. Some folks were under the impression that the Connectify Pro purchase was simply a one-year license, where the software would cripple back down to its “lite” features after the end of their year. Others emailed us, wondering if they would have any access to updates after purchasing their Connectify Pro license.

Actually, we like to think we’re offering the best of both scenarios. Here’s how Connectify Pro pricing works (it’s simple!):

When you purchase Connectify Pro, you’re purchasing a perpetual license for the product. That means, you’ll be able to use your version of Connectify Pro forever. Period. On top of that, you will receive, as part of your purchase, complimentary updates for an entire year. So, when the Connectify team rolls out an awesome new feature, ten or eleven months down the line… you’ll get that upgrade absolutely free-of-charge. Connectify Pro users also enjoy pro support for one whole year. If you have any questions or concerns installing Connectify on a new machine, or connecting that new tablet you got for Christmas, our support staff will automatically escalate your ticket!

At the end of the year, you can extend your license at a discounted price to keep getting upgrades and support for the next year, or you can keep using whatever version you have.

So paid licenses are perpetual for the version you already installed… is this the case for the free student licenses as well? I.e. if I install the pro version for free using a student license, will the pro features of the version I installed continue to work after the end of the semester, or will I be stuck with Lite features only after the semester is over?

    Thanks!

I have a problem with the free version. In the Pro version this problem is solved?

    Problem:

When I disconnect the WiFi-adapter, and then, in some hours I connect, then the program doesn’t create an access point because doesn’t see AdHoc wireless connection because the list of wireless networks doesn’t freshen periodically. Each time after WiFI-adapter connection it is necessary to press the button “Refresh settings” that the program has seen AdHoc wireless connection. Why the program doesn’t update the list of networks automatically to find and use network earlier specified in options?

I am in love with your product. The marketing tactic of releasing a free version to spread the name and news about connectify is a tested tried and true strategy. I’m questioning however if the upgrade is really worth the money. For $30 I can buy a cheap wireless router. The “early bird” coupon does make it a bit closer to being what I would consider reasonable. For me personally, I would probably buy it for 10 maybe 15 dollars if it was priced in that range. I still really love the lite version and I could see after it becomes more well known possibly charging 5-10 dollars for it. Great product, your gonna change the market altogether, very soon.

    Thanks

Tried your free version for a day or so … great! Motivated by the sale price and committment to provide updates for a year – nominal annual after that: I decided to buy the full version. Even greater. It works on all my stuff.(using my laptop as the “base,” WiFi to wife’s laptop, wireless printer/scanner/copier, tablet, and SONY Dash. Security looks good: can use long user name with mixed letters, numbers, symbols; password likewise, long, mixed, and WPA2-PSK level. RECOMMEND HIGHLY.
