THIS WEEK’S USER SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON AJMAL FROM INDIA!
Ajmal M. is a medical student originally from India, but studying in Ukraine. He lives in a hostel, where Wi-Fi connections are available on laptops, but with a hefty fee, and get this — no other devices are permitted to connect to the network!
In his free time, he loves his to chat on his Samsung Galaxy Fit. Problem is, since no other devices are permitted to connect to the network, he has to use 3G or pay extra to get a Wi-Fi connection on his phone. Sounds expensive!
He thought to himself, “I know smart phones can turn into Hotspots … so why can’t laptops?” Ajmal searched all over the Internet, tried many applications that didn’t work, and then discovered Connectify.
“Thank GOD, at last, I found Connectify,” he explained. “I tried it … it just amazed me. I don’t need to change my Wi-Fi settings and it works very smoothly. Now, I can use Internet on my smartphone and share my Internet with friends because anything and everything connects to it.”

THIS WEEK’S USER SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON PRATYUSH FROM MUMBAI, INDIA!

Pratyush says he first heard about Connectify after he Googled “how to make my laptop into a hotspot.” Luckily for us, the first result that appeard was Connectify. Bingo!
He thinks Connectify is “such an awesome software” because “anything and everything connects to it. It even works on a proxy!”
Pratyush uses Connectify at his house and college to connect his iPod touch to the internet since there are no wireless hotspots. He adds “since connecting to Wi-Fi is not possible for everyone in our lab because of complicated settings, I connect to the network and use Connectify for others to use the net too!”
His favorite part about Connectify is that “up to 11 people have used my hotspot at one time!”

OUR FIRST USER SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON BEN N. FROM THE UNITED STATES!
Ben is a government contractor currently working in Afghanistan. He says, “Connectify helps my department by making it easy to stay in contact with our loved ones.”
Since Ben is stationed so far away from home, he likes Connectify because it’s hard to use phones and they can be very expensive. He says, “with Connectify we can use our apps on our smart phones and use programs like Skype and Facebook to contact our loved ones in the States.”

Simply visit our Facebook page between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time and leave your question in the comments of the designated wall post. (Make sure you “LIKE” us first to make sure you can see our Wall!)
Our support team is online and ready to answer all of your questions. If, for any reason, your question cannot be immediately answered, one of our team members will instruct you through the Connectify Support Center in order to submit a Support Ticket. This will allow our software engineers to properly diagnose your problem and fix it as soon as possible!

Did you know with Connectify you can extend the range of your Wi-Fi network? With Connectify, your PC acts as a repeater to extend your network coverage area. This feature works well for someone looking to surf the web in their backyard or basement, far away from their network router.
First, you must download Connectify. Once you have Connectify running, you should see STEP #1. To begin using your Hotspot as a Repeater for another Wi-Fi network, see STEP #2. You go to the Connectify Menu, select “Easy Setup” and then “Clone Wi-Fi Settings.”

Once you click “Clone Wi-Fi settings,” STEP #3 will pop up on your screen and ask you which Wi-Fi network you’d like to clone. Say I want to use my home network, “Connectify-Kibbles” in my backyard. I would select “Connectify Kibbles” in the drop down menu and click “OK.”
NOTE: Only networks you’ve previously joined will show up on this list.
Once you click “OK,” the “Connectify Pro: Wi-FI Cloning” pop-up will disappear, and you will see STEP #4. Connectify automatically added “Connectify-Kibbles” to my Hotspot Name, as well as my password. As you can see, the Hotspot also automatically restarted, and began repeating my home network so I can access Connectify in my backyard, far away from my office where my router is located.

After STEP #4, you’ll be good to go! It’s really that easy!
If you are unable to click “Clone Wi-Fi Settings,” you are running Connectify LITE. Using Connectify as a repeater is an exclusive Connectify PRO feature.
